With the charisma typical of motivational speakers and other professional orators, Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Malcolm X, spoke to a large crowd Sunday afternoon at the Alachua County Library Headquarters on diversity, African-American culture, the Black Lives Matter movement, and of course, her famous father.
The Alachua County Library District, in partnership with the United Nations Educational Scientific Cultural Organization, or UNESCO, and other organizations, hosted the event featuring Shabazz, which also included a collection of speakers who read poetry, sang songs and made remarks before Shabazz answered questions from panelists and the audience.
